Sleeping at the Hotel Penn without a room

How possible is it to sleep right at the con without having a room? Can you get away with sleeping in a lobby? Is it hard to meet someone with floor space in their room?

Re: Sleeping at the Hotel Penn without a room

If you are in need of a comfortable bed and a dark and quiet spot in order to sleep, then you'll have a hard time. But if you're not that picky it's easy. 3 out of my 5 HOPE attendances have been without a room. Throughout the mezzanine level there is always a corner or under a table you can crawl into for a couple zzz's throughout the night. If the hammocks are out again, those are always a comfortable option if you can get one.

Most people don't like spending much time sleeping when they can be HOPE-ing, anyway. That's probably why most people split their rooms. Most don't usually need (nor want) the whole room, so spending full price isn't ideal. Either way it's definitely nice to have something soft that you depend on for passing out in when needed. But if you're going to be depending mostly on hammocks (meaning you wont be 100% on how long you'll have to wait for your next nap time), than make sure you hit up the Club-Mate table often! wink

Indeed, the hammocks are fine if you plan to sleep very little. The only real disadvantage is the lack of shower facilities.
